Hall of Fame Inductees 2026: Malcolm Barker & Fiona Barclay

Malcolm & Fiona have been involved in Rock’n’Roll in various forms since 1994. They are well-respected dance teachers and judges, having run their own dance classes at the Colac Rock’n’Roll Club since 2005. They have been involved with the Victorian Rock’n’Roll Dance Association over many years, with Malcolm holding the position of past president from 2007-2012, and Fiona being past secretary from 2007-2013.

They are both widely recognised and admired, with an established history of competition success, locally and interstate, and as teachers, contributing to the growth of Rock’n’Roll dancing, providing dance classes for the past 20 years, and assisting other Rock’n’Roll groups. They have also been highly respected judges for the Victorian Championships along with other competitions, such as the NSW Titles, Gippy Rocks, Geelong, and Ararat. Fiona has also been Head Judge for many years. They currently teach Rock’n’Roll dance classes in Colac, Geelong and Ballarat.

Malcolm and Fiona joined the Colac Rock’n’Roll Club in 1994 and started competition dancing shortly after this. Over many years they competed successfully in couples, triples and team events. They travelled extensively within Victoria and interstate competing at The Wintersun Festival in Queensland, in Canberra, Sydney, Ararat, and the Victorian Championship events.

They began teaching for the Colac Rock’n’Roll Club in 2005 and have remained teaching there for 20 years. They have also taught in Winchelsea, Camperdown and at Geelong Juke Box Rockers. An extension to their teaching has been running a large number of workshops around various venues and clubs, including Horsham, Hamilton, Warrnambool and Mount Gambier.

Malcolm and Fiona then made the step into judging, which they have undertaken with the same passion as their dancing and teaching. They have judged for the VRRDA, Geelong Jukebox Rockers, Camperdown Cruise Festival, Ararat Jailhouse Festival, in Tasmania, Sydney and Adelaide.

Their passion for dancing has taken them on travels overseas to New Zealand, and Los Angeles. They have always shown great dedication to the dancing community, and inspired others.
